Fashion and Business Stand Out in Trendy Shirts

Ceciel Marinduque, owner of Ryker's

When the pandemic hit, Ceciel Marinduque’s travel agency was badly affected and she  was forced to think of starting another business to support her family. As a single mom and breadwinner of her family, she decided to enter the fashion retail industry to make ends meet.

On July 26, 2020, Ceciel launched Ryker’s Clothing Wholesaling, a Palawan-based supplier of trendy branded overruns and mall-pulled out shirts. Her business quickly gained success, with Ryker’s opening a small warehouse on December 8, 2020. Ryker’s continued to expand its offering, now also boasting footwear and fragrance collections.

Ceciel continues to inspire other women in her community with her success, but she remains grounded. Her family remains her greatest “why”.

Tell us about your business and why you started it.

Since launching last year, Ryker’s Clothing Wholesaling has already received various awards and recognition from its direct supplier. We also participated in different bazaars: Tarabidan at Dang Maria, City Bazaar, Viet Village Bazaar, Chinatown Bazaar, and Stellar Grounds Bazaar. Ryker’s has also been featured on one of the most well known quad media in Palawan, the Palawan Daily.

How did you know when you had the right idea?

What are some of the mistakes you wished you could’ve avoided?

Same [with] my team, ayaw ko maranasan nila ang failure.

Was there ever a point when you wanted to give up on your business?

What made you decide to push through?

What are the things that help you stay organized throughout the day and get time for everyone and everything?

Any recommendations to moms who dream about being entrepreneurs, but just can’t get started?
